Simms Steakhouse

This place is tucked away in the most unexpected location but, worth the trip. There are lots of stairs from the lower parking lot to the building but, valet parking is available if you’re not up for the hike. I made my first reservation at Simms after being here 30 years. I found Simms by googling. I selected Simms to dine Saturday night, with three of my great niecey poos because of its proximity to where we were staying for the night. We sat on the upper patio. They ordered way too much food and couldn’t eat most of it. Dinner began with warm complementary homemade house rolls honey butter. My nieces ordered ribeye steaks (16oz) medium rare with fries that served about two ppl. They also ordered mocktails they reported they were delicious and they enjoyed the tasty steaks and fries too. One of them ordered lobster bisque and said it was really good. I ordered salmon. It was cooked well but not seasoned well at all. The Brussels sprouts were quite well roasted with a sort of savory-sweet flavor. Although we dined late and closed the place down, our server, Josh was super accommodating and catering so, we tipped him well! It was a wonderful experience with my family. Although you cannot tell by these shots, the views were boss too!!! I’ll be returning soon for a date night for sure!

Emerson took amazing care of us tonight and had great suggestions. My drink was very good the vanilla one. NY strip steak was also amazing. I always eat A1 sauce on my steak but the peppercorn sauce was over the top. My new favorite sauce.

The service is excellent. Nicholas went above and beyond to make sure my beverage demands were met when I inquired about a mixed drink they used to serve years ago. They have an extensive wine list and beverage selection. Entrees were cooked to requested temperature. The view doesn’t disappoint, ambience makes it a great date night meet up place. It’s right off the sixth avenue, very easy access.

Sunday brunch buffet had many breakfast options like bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict, omelet station, waffle and French toast station. Lunch options included 2 different salad options, prime rib carving station, crab legs, shrimp, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies. Assorted pastries.

Please do not order the prime rib. I swear it was precooked or frozen and warmed. The taste was amazing ....just so dry for medium rare. It had no juice and you could tell they weren't even from the same roast. The staff and atmosphere is always top notch. we went a little after they opened so we had the place to ourselves for quite a while...very romantic and easy to hear each other talk. Portions were huge. We made up for the dry prime rib by taking it home and making steak and egg omelet. Didn't notice the dryness at all w the eggs.

We were at Simm's for a private party catered dinner. The food was phenomenal, the service great and the private party on the terrace overlooking the city made the atmosphere very private. A great time was had by all!

We just came into town and was weary after a long road trip. Thought we'd treat our selves and boy did this place deliver. Our server J.P. was amazing. Boxed our dishes as we went to keep them fresh. Very informative and made sure we had anything we had needed. The drinks are fresh and strong, and the food is some of the best I've ever had! Also can't beat the view. If youre in lakewood this is a must!
